$30.00Price

Spike is a Snow Ponytail Cactus, also known as Opuntia erinacea var. ursine. It's a charming cactus native to the southwestern United States. It features rounded, densely spined pads that resemble a snow-covered ponytail, adding a unique touch to any collection. Its spines can be quite sharp, so handle with care.

Care Instructions:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight. Ideal for a sunny windowsill or under grow lights.
  • Water: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. In the winter, reduce watering to once a month.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Ensure the pot has drainage holes to prevent root rot.
  • Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 60-80°F (15-27°C). Protect from frost and avoid temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
  • Fertilizer: Feed with a diluted cactus fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer).
