Portulacaria Afra "Variegata" (also known as Variegated Elephant Bush) is a succulent with fleshy, variegated leaves and red stems. Native to South Africa, it’s an attractive plant often used in bonsai and as a drought-tolerant ground cover.

Care Instructions:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight, though it can tolerate some direct sun. Indoors, place it near a sunny window.
  • Water: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot.
  • Soil: Use well-draining, sandy soil, such as a cactus mix.
  • Temperature: Thrives in warm temperatures, ideally between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Protect from frost.
  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced, diluted fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) once a month.

  • Additional Information:

Each Melo Plant arrangement is a final sale, with pricing determined by the rarity or variety of the plant and the type and cost of the vessel. Every arrangement is crafted with care, starting with a base layer of expanded clay pebbles for optimal drainage, followed by home organic soil, a top dressing for a polished look, and a neem oil treatment to promote healthy plant growth.
